Yellowstone, the new contemporary Western TV series on the Paramount Network, is set to premiere. The first episode debuts June 20th (9/8c) and stars Kevin Costner as John Dutton, owner of the largest ranch in the contiguous United States. Taylor Sheridan, director of such “neo-Western” films as Hell or High Water (2016) and Wind River (2017), writes, directs & produces the series.
Set in present-day Montana, Costner’s Dutton faces increasing pressures against the borders of his ranch. Those tensions include land developers, an Indigenous reservation, and Yellowstone National Park itself. Dutton’s family is made up of a lawyer-son (Wes Bentley), a strong-willed daughter (Kelly Reilly), a son who served as a Navy SEAL (Luke Grimes), and a son helping to run the ranch (Dave Annable). The following promotional clip gives some insight into the show’s story-lines and characters:
Yellowstone is the first scripted one for the Paramount Network, and the debut season was filmed in various Utah and Montana locations. For further series information and to visit the official show link, see the post YELLOWSTONE JUNE DEBUT.
