Rockstar Games has announced that Red Dead Redemption 2 will now be released October 26th, 2018. This news marks the second shift in release for the highly-anticipated Western video game. Originally slated for market in Fall 2017, RDR2 was then to be available this Spring.
In an official statement on its website, Rockstar relayed the following:
“Dear All….We are excited to announce that Red Dead Redemption 2 will be released on October 26th 2018. We apologize to everyone disappointed by this delay. While we had hoped to have the game out sooner, we require a little extra time for polish.
We sincerely thank you for your patience and hope that when you get to play the game, you will agree the wait will have been worth it….We look forward to sharing a lot more information with you in the coming weeks.”
In conjunction with the above, seven new screenshots from the game were released by Rockstar, two of which are provided here:
Red Dead Redemption 2 is currently set to launch on the Xbox One and Sony PlayStation 4 consoles. The new game will be, in terms of story-line, a prequel to Red Dead Redemption, which was originally released in 2010 for the Xbox 360 and Playstation3 systems.
