RAILSWESTERN.COM – NEW SITE FOR PASSENGER RAIL

Launched on September 1st, 2017, Railswestern.com is the successor website to Westernsreboot.com. This re-branding reflects a shift by this writer toward increased rail-related content and passenger rail advocacy in North America. The geographic focus of such will be westward from the Northern Ontario (Canada) and the US Midwest. For the Western fan, select Western genre items will still be included in the content.

As I have moved to embrace a public transportation lifestyle, particularly that of passenger rail, I have experienced the significant gaps in the rail travel network across North America. In some cases, those gaps were once in fact served by passenger trains. A resurgence in passenger rail continues to build momentum and dedicated advocates across the continent are working to support and expand train travel options. For links to the rail advocacy groups that this writer holds membership to, visit the ABOUT (UPDATED) link on this site.

The goal of Railswestern.com is to feature articles on rail-related news, books, films and various passenger rail events. This writer welcomes contact from those who wish to share related news and information. My contact information can be found via the ABOUT menu option.

Finally, thanks to all those who visited and subscribed to Westernsreboot.com and I hope you continue to ride along with this new site. Whether a previous or new visitor, welcome aboard.

  1. Best of luck with the rebrand, Chad, and I can’t argue with your advocacy of public transport as it’s something I try to use as much as possible myself and I too would very much like to see services generally expanded and improved.

  2. Cheers, Colin, I appreciate the comment and support. As I often say, my great-grandparents had better train travel than I do and so rail advocacy is a bit of “back to the future”. 😉

    All the best,
    Chad
