This writer is pleased to announce that a bonus section of one of the Westerns courses I teach will be offered this summer. The online class, Westerns: Film as Lens to the Present, will be available thru the Continuing Education department of St. Clair College from July 3rd to August 18th. This course explores such themes as the Origins of the Western, Landscape & Setting, Indigenous Peoples, Women, and Soundtracks. The class also examines recent Western productions such as AMC’s Hell on Wheels, HBO’s Westworld, and Rockstar Games’ Red Dead Redemption.
The condensed Summer course allows college students needing an elective credit to complete work that normally takes fifteen weeks in just six. Assignments include reflective journals and a film review. To register, see the link St. Clair – Westerns, and the official course description can be found at General Education Listings. St. Clair College is located in the border region of Windsor (ON) – Detroit (MI).
Those with questions can contact me directly via email @ firstname.lastname@example.org . Westerns: Film as Lens to the Present is open to both those in North America and outside, and all listed prices are in CDN dollars. If you are looking for a different kind of online college course, one that matches your interest in the Western films, TV shows, and/or video games, I hope to see you on the digital trail!
