The hype toward the Fall 2017 release of Red Dead Redemption 2 is building – promotional items have now been released to retailers. The materials include posters and cardboard box displays with official artwork.

Red Dead Redemption 2 will be the follow-up to Rockstar Games’ Red Dead Redemption, which was released in 2010. That award-winning game featured John Marston, a reformed outlaw who sets across a fading Old West to track down his former gang. Red Dead Redemption featured both single player and online multiplayer modes.

There has been speculation that Red Dead Redemption 2 could be a prequel in terms of story-line, and that the earlier story of John Marston will be experienced. This idea is based on a supposedly-leaked map for the newer game. For an analysis of that map, visit the post RDR2 – Map.

A trailer previewing the upcoming game was released this past October and thus far the game appears targeted for Xbox One and Sony PS4 consoles. Rockstar Games has confirmed an online multiplayer option for the new game. Here is the first trailer:

Pre-orders for Red Dead Redemption 2 are now being taken and an official site has been launched at Rockstar Games – RDR2.
