Forsaken (2016), the Western starring Donald and Kiefer Sutherland, has received a North American DVD & Blu-ray release date. Home copies of the first feature film in which the Sutherlands have acted together will be available March 29th.

In this Alberta-shot film, Kiefer Sutherland plays John Henry Clayton, a Civil War veteran who became a noted gunslinger. Coming back to his Wyoming hometown seven years after the war’s end conclusion, John Henry is determined to leave violence behind. Donald Sutherland is his father, the now-widowed Reverend William Clayton, to whom John Henry returns.

John Henry’s resolve to forsake violence will be tested by tycoon James McCurdy (Brian Cox). McCurdy, with the help of his lead gunman (Michael Wincott), and a violent gang, seeks to drive local farmers from their land in order to re-sell that acreage to the arriving railroad. Further complicating John Henry’s situation is a former love, played by Demi Moore.

Forsaken debuted in North America on the big-screen (and Video-on-Demand ) on February 19th (March 1st in Canada).It has received five nominations for the upcoming Canadian Screen Awards (to be broadcast March 13th on the national CBC network). Those nominations are for Art Direction, Cinematography, Costume Design, Make-Up, and Sound Editing.
