Forsaken, the 2015 Western starring father and son, Donald and Kiefer Sutherland, has now received a 2016 general release date. The Alberta-shot film, in which the Sutherlands in fact play father and son characters, will have its general North American debut February 19th, 2016.

Directed by Jon Cassar, Kiefer Sutherland is John Henry Clayton, a gunslinger trying to leave his past behind. Donald Sutherland plays his father, the now-widowed Reverend William Clayton, to whom John Henry returns. It is in their Wyoming hometown that John Henry’s determination to forswear violence is tested, as a local tycoon attempts to drive area farmers from their land so as to re-sell their acreage to the oncoming railroad.

Forsaken also stars Demi Moore as a former love of John Henry’s. Brian Cox is the ruthless businessman James McCurdy, who is aided by his lead gunman, Gentleman Dave (Michael Wincott).

Kiefer Sutherland is set to be honored by the Whistler Film Festival in British Columbia on December 4th. Sutherland will receive the festival’s 2015 Trailblazing in Acting Award and Forsaken will have its Western Canada debut at the festival.

In the following Press Association interview at the 2015 Toronto International Film Festival in September, the film’s world premiere, the two Sutherlands and Cassar share some of their experiences in making the film:
