The international trailer for Quentin Tarantino’s Django Unchained – released this week – provides a further glimpse of scenes from this upcoming “southern”-Western to be released December 25th.

Set two years prior to the US Civil War, the film stars Jamie Foxx as Django, a  slave who is selected by dentist-bounty hunter, Dr. King Schultz (Christoph Waltz), to assist Schultz in hunting down an outlaw gang. If successful, Schultz will give Django his freedom and assist him in recovering his wife (Kerry Washington) from Calvin Candie, a plantation owner played by Leonardo DiCaprio.

The film is not expected to conclude principal photography for several more weeks.

  1. Thanks for the comment. It is interesting to see the different/new camera angles for some of the scenes shown in the previous trailer and to see further content for those scenes, as well.

  2. The combination of Tarantino and Dicaprio will definitely draw in the crowds. Unfortunately, I feel that both these guys are out of their genre. I may get around to watching this if I am having a bout of insomnia.

  3. Thanks for your comment, Mark. In the 1950s, there was a tradition of major stars acting in at least one Western during that “golden age” for the genre – it does seem to be a genre that some actors either fit well with or don’t. So, I am guessing you will likely catch a midnight showing, ha.
